為了配合劇中男主角的身份，「玉樓春曉」出動了英國皇家愛樂交響樂團，在男主角的「指揮」之下，演出貝多芬、布拉姆斯、德佛乍克、莫札特、柴可夫斯基和拉赫曼尼諾夫等名家的經典，不過只是點綴的性質，真正動人的，是原創的配樂與主題歌。這部電影的配樂，出自法國籍的作曲兼指揮家喬治狄勒休（Georges Delerue）的手筆。他曾因「茱莉亞」（Julia）、「情定日落橋」（A Little Romance）和「悲憐上帝的女兒」（Agnes of God）等片的配樂先後五度入圍奧斯卡，並以其中的「情定日落橋」得獎，而他為「玉樓春曉」這部電影所作的音樂，曾經有好長一段時間，幾乎成了當時台灣所有的電視劇都大量盜用的配樂。
